Initially, it was reported that OnePlus planned to release their foldable phone in August, but due to a last-minute decision to switch from BOE displays to Samsung panels, the launch was postponed.

The OnePlus Open is expected to adopt an outward folding design similar to competitors such as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5, Pixel Fold, and Vivo X Fold 2. It is rumored to be a derived version of the Oppo Find N2. The device is likely to launch initially in China, with subsequent global releases planned for markets including India and the US.
