Although OnePlus has yet to make an official announcement, industry insiders expect the OnePlus Ace 3 to succeed the OnePlus Ace 2, which was launched earlier this year in February 2022. A reliable tipster known as Digital Chat Station has now disclosed the comprehensive list of specifications for the OnePlus Ace 3, revealing that the phone might not come equipped with the previously rumored telephoto sensor.
In a Weibo post, the tipster (Digital Chat Station) explained that the OnePlus Ace 3 is likely to omit the 32-megapixel telephoto shooter that was previously speculated. However, no further information was provided regarding possible changes to other camera features mentioned in previous reports. The phone is still expected to feature a 50-megapixel primary sensor supported by optical image stabilization (OIS), an 8-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 16-megapixel front-facing camera sensor.
Furthermore, the tipster reiterated earlier leaks, confirming that the OnePlus Ace 3 will sport a 6.78-inch BOE X1 Oriental OLED display. The display is rumored to incorporate a LTPO panel with a resolution of 1.5K (2,780 x 1,264 pixels), a global peak brightness of 1,600 nits, a peak local brightness of 4,500 nits, and a PWM dimming rate of 2,160Hz.
The leak also mentions that the OnePlus Ace 3 may boast a glass body with a metallic mid-frame. Potential buyers can look forward to three color options: blue, grey, and gold. Previous reports have suggested that the smartphone may house a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC and a powerful 5,500mAh battery, with support for 100W wired fast charging.
One interesting tidbit about the upcoming OnePlus smartphone is that it is rumored to be released globally under the moniker OnePlus 12R. Its predecessor, the OnePlus Ace 2, was marketed as the OnePlus 11R in international markets. In India, the OnePlus 11R is available in two variants: 8GB + 128GB and 16GB + 256GB, priced at Rs. 39,999 and Rs. 44,999, respectively.
